"Cut"-body objects
Cut-body Objects, conceptual jewelry- dysmorphic and adjunct, these works act to demonstrate the objectification of women and their bodies in the media (and wider society). The current depiction of the “ideal” body standard is unrealistic and far removed from the actual. When worn, these works limit the body and its functions, just like the effect of confining women to such narrow ideals of femininity. Is it a beauty? Or is it grotesque?
Objects made by silk painting and digital printing, the year 2017.
